When Niko meets Evie, he sees in her eyes a woman worthy of someone to provide him a challenge.  The opportunity to break her spirit and make her his excites his soul.  He insists that he is to be her BDSM teacher.  Her body will be like putty, to mold into the type of woman he needs to satisfy his wants and desires.

Evie is powerless to resist Niko, her better judgment tells her to resist the gravitating pull he radiates.  Will Evie go willingly to Niko’s erotic lifestyle, or will she run from the forbidden fruit he offers for her to taste?

Nicole Austin’s TEMPESTUOUS is one book that will set your soul on fire.  This reviewer has never had to set a book aside just to allow her body enough time to cool down.  This is one book that is definitely not for the faint of heart; it is written almost like a well in-depth instruction manual that will provide a crash course of the BDSM lifestyle.  If teachers came in the form of Niko, there would be a mad rush to sign up for his class.

Rachel Tarkiel’s life changed the day she saved her sister from certain death as she pushed her out of the way of an out of control wagon.  She was not quick enough to save herself from harm’s way as the wagon hit her in the face and left a jagged scar.  With her disfigurement, she gave up her dreams of having a happy life as a wife and mother; instead she focused all of her energy on becoming a Doctor.

Clay Halsey had put all of his trust in a childhood friend and was betrayed in the worst way when he turned on him resulting in his blindness. After six months of living in darkness, Clay knows he must come to terms with his disability.  He enrolls in the School for the Blind to learn skills that will help him adjust to his blindness, and also to be able to help his brothers in the family business.

Upon arriving at the School for the Blind, a feminine voice gains his attention.  The voice belongs to Dr. Rachel Tarkiel, the school doctor.  He senses that she is a woman that is filled with kindness and compassion.  The two of them develop a friendship, one that deepens into something neither one of them were expecting.

Clay fears that his blindness will become a burden on Rachel if he allows his feelings to be known.  Rachel is concerned that once Clay discovers her scar he will want nothing more to do with her.  Will they be able to put their past hurts behind them and take a chance on the kindling love that wishes to ignite?

Historical romances just don’t get any better than Paty Jager’s DOCTOR IN PETTICOATS.  This book is a magnificent tribute to one talented author.  I was literally swept away from page one of this highly addictive novel.  This is the type of romance that will leave an empty spot in your heart once you finish the last page.  There is no way that you will not be able to resist Clay or Rachel, their tragedy to triumph romance is one of the finest this reviewer has ever experienced.
